Hotel in Bordeaux, France
Recently I had the pleasure of traveling to Bordeaux, France which is in the Gironde region. It is a wine production area as it is naturally warm and sunny with perfect conditions for vineyards to grow.
has a lot of great, inexpensive flights to fly within Europe so check them out for deals as I did.
I stayed at the Mercure Bordeaux Le Lac for 2 days. I chose this hotel because it is about 5 miles outside of central downtown Bordeaux as I wanted a more quiet area away from the city. It was next to a lake and had greenery within it’s grounds surrounding the pool area. It was nice to relax. But when I wanted to go into the city it was super easy to catch the tram which is a 5 minute walk and only costs 1.50euro each way. Very convenient.
The hotel has a nice breakfast buffet with complete selection of pastries, fruit, eggs, meat, juices, coffee and teas. Dinner was also nice taken outside on the patio near the pool. Service for dinner was excellent.
The room itself was a bit dated, with a hard to manage sofa sleeper bed. However, the view to the lake from the 5th floor was very nice. I would recommend this hotel for families.
